Project Summary People with disabilities must access opportunities to participate in society fully and be part of the solutions for the most impactful problems our communities live with today. They must be prepared, trained and access contexts to fulfil the needed conditions to participate. The work developed by the consortium entities showed us the diverse inclusion needs and obstacles that individuals with disabilities face. One particular area gets our attention due to the lack of responses and the specific impacts it brings. We are talking about the low levels of knowledge and participation of people with disabilities in climate action. The privileged role of sports in developing individuals, communities and general society is well-known. The consortium entities have experience in adapted sports, specifically in the Bocce modality, one of the most inclusive sports since anyone can play it regardless of age, gender, ability or disability. Nevertheless, we bear in mind that there is still much to do to make sports in general (and Bocce in particular) truly inclusive. This is why we will follow a multidimensional approach addressing the following: - the social inclusion of people with disabilities through sports; - the participation in climate action of people with disabilities; - the EU and sports values. We aim to contribute to the social inclusion and participation in climate action of people with disabilities by intervening in the sports sector. Our specific objectives are: -Promote the dialogue, reflection and capacity-building of adapted sports / Bocce professionals about EU and Sports Values, Social Inclusion and Green Sports; -Develop, implement and disseminate an intervention methodology aimed at professionals and athletes of adapted sport, to promote inclusive and sustainable practices in sports and in communities; -Promote the conditions for the participation of people with disabilities in the fight against climate change at local, regional and EU levels.
